She reached the door and paused for a second, mentally rehearsing what she was going to say. She ran a hand through her just cut hair, and let out a surprised breath when she remembered how short it felt. She had gotten it cut a little above her shoulders, just that morning, and was still getting used to it. She finally knocked on the door, and stepped back, waiting for someone to answer. status: done credits: MADE BY JAMIE! tag: for Mistur Jacob, please! notes: Reply whenever you can! mmmm...
Jacob's fingers slid gently over the snooze button, allowing very little pressure in silencing the high pitched screech coming from the tiny clock. He knew better by now than to slap at the object, as he had before the transformation years before. He couldn't afford another. Though, being Jake, he often forgot, resulting in a rather irritating trip to the store.
Jacob stretched his limbs beyond the confines of his tiny bed, squinting his eyes to block out the bright sun peering through the blinds. His mind wandered, resurfacing a few unexpected thoughts. It's been a while since he'd thought of Bella, directly at least. Once in a while he'd see a girl that reminded him of her, never as beautiful, but something about them had his heart pounding. His mind would fill with pictures, memories. But as they appeared, Jacob pushed them as far back into his mind as they could go, mentally locking them away in memory. Though somehow, they always escaped.
Now, he lay there, purposely tracing the lines of her face, sucking in every feature. There was nothing that scared him more than forgetting her. Well, maybe except for her forgetting him. She'd left for reasons Jacob never understood. And maybe never would. She just decided to take off, something about not being able to take it. Out of all his memories of Bella, that was the most clear. He could still hear her voice, see her face streaked with tears. He never understood why she would leave if it hurt her that much. As much as he hated to admit it, he would rather see her wearing the leech's ring than see her as she was the day she left. Of course, the first time he'd seen her that upset was years before, when Edward left. But he figured since she was leaving this time. Living not only without Edward, but himself, was much worse. The first time, her emotions were trapped inside. And when she left, she was an uncontrollable mess.
Jacob's thoughts were interrupted by the light knock, his eyes peeling open. He groaned, pulling his body from the mattress and stumbling into the hallway. He reached for the knob, missing twice before actually grasping the metal. He flung the door open, his tired eyes peering into the sun. A figure stood a few feet from the door, almost as if it were afraid to stand too close. As his eyes adjusted, he made out the frame of a girl, her eyes staring Jacob straight in the eyes. He froze. There was no way it was her. Was there?
Jacob narrowed his brows, his lips parting in disbelief as he returned her stare. Isabella Swan stood before him. At his house. On his porch. Holy shit. Jacob shook his head, his hand reaching for the door frame, taking out a chunk of wood in his grasp. He wasn't sure whether to yell at her or hold her. His eyes scanned her face, just as unsure as his own. She looked...the same. Yet different. Her hair was shorter, bangs hanging just above her big brown eyes. Her style was a bit more...aware. But, she was still...Bella. At least, from what he saw. Who knew how much she'd changed mentally. It'd been years.
Bella...? Did she still go by that? Was it Isabella now?
